Traipsing Africa’s Safaris receives my highest recommendation. During the beginning stages of planning a trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe I quickly learned that it isn’t easy finding information about Zimbabwe safaris, communication can be slow, and booking online isn’t always an option. Enter Sandra from Traipsing who made everything so easy! Firstly, Sandra’s knowledge and expertise helped me narrow down the many options. Secondly, she was able to secure a special rate that allowed us to stay at the 5 star The Hide Camp in Hwange National Park. The Hide is utterly amazing and I would never have considered it thinking that it was out of our price range! Sandra made the payment process as simple and easy as possible. Sandra organized ground transportation and it was a seamless and comfortable journey to The Hide through Victoria Falls. Communication with Sandra was superb and she periodically checked in via email during the holiday just to see if there was anything she could assist with and there was!! There were so many unknowns and we had questions about travel and testing requirements during the COVID pandemic and Sandra being on the ground in South Africa was able to get us the information we needed. I have no doubt that our holiday was more amazing because of Sandra’s advice and suggestions! Having lived in South Africa I thought I could plan and book everything myself – I now would recommend to anyone traveling to Africa that they partake of the expertise a travel agent offers to enhance your adventure. We were due to go on our honeymoon in April 2020. When we were researching, we emailed a lot with Sandra, who provided lots of recommendations and advice about the different places, and was generally really informative. When we had to postpone our trip due to Covid-19, Sandra was excellent in keeping us up to date with all of the options, replying to our emails really quickly and generally helping us out in what was a really stressful time. Our trip to South Africa and Jamila Lodge in the Welgevonden Game Park was a trip of a life time! Sandra Nicol at Traipsing Through Africa made it all happen with the upmost care, excitement and precision. Sandra contacted me and immediately became my guardian angel through the whole journey–from planning, site-seeing, getting to our safari location–to our precarious return home due to the beginning of the world-wide shutdown & CORONA-19 Pandemic.

I contacted Safari Bookings to get recommendations for Safari excursions w/easy access to Johannesburg–I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t know I would gain a friend in South Africa who knew exactly what we needed! When Sandra called, she listened to all of our needs and hopes. She soon became a wonderful resource for every aspect of our travel to South Africa, including hotels upon arrival, ground transportation, advice on day excursions and local safety. She was in touch on a regular basis to tailor our trip to our needs and time frame. She worked everything around other plans we already had in place in SA and Eswatini.

Sandra recommended a lodge in the mountains of the Waterberg District, of the Limpopo, province–about 3.5 hours from Johannesburg–Jamila. It was absolutely perfect! When the world situation began to change, our plans began to change by the minute as well. Sandra was checking-in and came to our rescue, re-arranging details and accommodations. We were blown away by the personal service of Sandra and the staff at Jamila Lodge. Sandra’s concern and care for us went above and beyond. In spite of everything, we had a very private peaceful adventure with wonderful gourmet meals, beautiful luxury rooms, top-notch service, 2 daily-privately guided safari excursions, breath-taking scenery and sun-sets, morning al fresco tea-breaks, fire-side dinners, spotting of The Big 5 and so much more. It was heaven on earth and we could not have done it without Sandra at Traipsing Through Africa! When we do it again, we’ll call Sandra!

Sandra was incredibly helpful and communicative in the build-up to our trip to Kruger. She sent us advice about other part of SA that we were visiting, and also kept us updated on SAA strikes that threatened to impact our holiday for a time. We felt completely confident that from the moment we touched down in Kruger we would not have to think about anything for the next 4 days and we were right! We were met by one of the Hoyo Hoyo lodge staff, which Sandra had arranged, and from that moment on it was complete bliss. Hoyo Hoyo itself is wonderful – the food is delicious (and plentiful!), we were continuously refreshed by tea and coffee breaks and evening drinks, both at the lodge and on safari, and the atmosphere was very luxurious and relaxing. The bush drives themselves were very special, and our guide Pharence spotted many animals with us and beautiful sights. I had a massage on one of the mornings which was great, before spending the day in between drives by the pool looking out for elephants. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming and we were sad to leave! I would recommend both Hoyo Hoyo and Traipsing Africa to anybody looking to book a trip to Kruger.

Sandra and Jason organized our trip to the lodge in Greater Kruger absolutely perfect! Sandra picked up the phone and asked for our wishes and preferences. On the same day we got some recommendations and offers. She was very patiently with us discussing the different options. The booking and payment process was very easy and smooth. We wanted to change the booking some days before departure in order to extend the stay in the lodge – it was arranged within one hour! She organized the pick-up and transfer from Johannesburg to the lodge and back just for my wife and me. We enjoyed this roadtrip very much since our driver Juri was extroardinary helpful and turned even this transfer into an event.

Later on we met Sandra and Jason in Port Elizabeth where we enjoyed a dinner together. We got so many valuable information for our trip along the garden route towards Cape Town – which you would not find in any of the travel books.

I have been dealing with Sandra from Traipsing, and couldn’t recommend her more highly. As I said in the heading, she has been respnsive, accurate, pro-active and super helpful. We organised a 3 days Kruger experience with her, which we have unfortunately had to post-pone due to COVID-19 impacts. But she has been outstanding – firstly in terms of being very responsive in giving us options that were all the right pitch and “on brief” in terms of the type of booking we were seeking, and then in sorting out the booking we chose with detail and clarity at every step. And the when the impacts of COVID-19 really started to bite and we were contemplating a deferral, she beat us to the puch, reaching out to see what we were thinking and what we wished to do. The Traipsing Africa Safari group were excellent to deal with from the get go. Clear and concise lines of communication before, during and after the safari. The tour guides were first class with extensive knowledge of the Greater Kruger National Park and all the wildlife found there.

We did the three day safari and we were not disappointed, we saw the big five, the small five and the ugly five animals within the three days. I would recommend this safari to all, you will be amazed at the location and the friendly approachable staff.

Sandra is the best agent I have dealt with thus far. I was trying to plan a safari for a 15 person group and almost gave up in frustration after calling in excess on 10 agencies trying to explain my requirements over and over again only to be disappointed with the options returned. Then Sandra came along….she was the most proactive and efficient agent I have ever worked with and also always available to chat despite a 9hr time difference. She immediately understood what I was looking for in terms of a Safari experience and provided a number of feasible options. Once we booked the accommodation she sorted out all the additional logistics in getting to and from the game reserve. In addition to this she proactively offered her services in organizing extra add-ons like spa treatments. Over and above the safari tour she provided assistance in putting together a “must-see” itinerary for our Cape Town part of the trip which was not required but she just helped us out in all areas of our trip whether it related to her or not.

Traipsing Tours and Sandra have been an absolute dream to work with, I think across our group we have recommended her to at least 10 people thus far. If you want to speak to someone who understands your needs, is responsive and proactive and overall just a friendly, accommodating person then use Traipsing Safari and Tours.

In this day and age it’s very tough to find people who take pride in their work and even tougher to find people who go the extra mile, Sandra does both and I feel so lucky to have found her and to have had such an a amazing, seamless and worry free Safari despite the large size of our group.

Sandra was extremely helpful during the safari planning process and looked out for us during the trip as well. She found us amazing accommodations at Hamilton’s Tented Camp for our honeymoon (highly recommended for couples, with excellent food and drinks and service), and also helped us when we wanted to plan our own drive through the panoramic route. We also liked that Traipsing Safari is on Whatsapp, which makes it more convenient and Sandra responds very timely, even to our last minute questions during our trip. I recommended Traipsing Safari to my friends and will recommend it to others as well.

Communications between us and Traipsing Africa (TA) were quite extraordinarily good – whether before, during or after our trip. Phone calls and emails to us in both the UK and Africa to confirm the timekeeping of our forthcoming flights demonstrated that we had hour to hour monitoring of our movements. All quite astonishing. Personal service at its very, very best.

We chose our safari camp but TA kept us well in the loop as far as other options were concerned – which was excellent from our point of view.

Our safari was top notch. Game viewing, the camp, the staff, and the whole experience were among the very best we have known over the past 20 years.

Sandra made our safari booking process super easy. We booked last minute for a Christmas 2019 safari and although there was no space left at our original choice, Sandra asked what we were looking for and found us a perfect alternative that fitted all our requirements. The safari itself was at a Rare Earth lodge in Welgevonden, the lodge, ranger, food, everything was brilliant and ticked the big box I’d asked Sandra for which was ‘rhinos’! All aspects of the experience exceeded our expectations. Communication was quick and through, even providing info about other parts of our trip not booked through this company, when requested. The drivers were polite and professional. The time at the lodge was fabulous.

We went to Imbali Safari Logde for our honeymoon. All really incredible, experts guides, we saw lions, leopards, African buffaloes, hyenas, herds of elephants, giraffes, ostriches and many more!

The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean, very good food, different menus every day. Really highly recommended.

Sandra helped book this 3 day, 2 night safari at Wild Ivory eco lodge, and it was great. All the transports arrived on time and in comfortable van. The lodge had gourmet meals and very comfortable beds, bathroom and outdoor shower. A crazy noisy 3-4 hr thunderstorm gave us a wonderful light show, and an elephant walked right by our neighbours tent during the night. Game drives by Herbert went well and saw lots of animals. All was very good.
