The wildebeest move and this is what Serengeti Safari Camp is all about – understanding the Serengeti seasons and game movements and mirroring them.

The Serengeti Safari Camp’s move covers hundreds of miles and moves every 4/5 months (not during your stay) along a route that the herds have travelled for hundreds of years.  The camp is comfortable – a home from home, where you want for nothing. The focus is to deliver an extraordinary wildlife experience without damaging the environment.

The camp has maintained the original pioneering feel with a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and a flush toilet.  Each tent has a spacious bedroom and dressing area, with a sink and big jugs of cold and hot water.  The safari-style bucket shower is en-suite at the rear of the tent, as is the toilet.

The beds are comfy and made up with fresh linen and soft pillows. There are chairs on the verandah where you can relax and enjoy the unfettered view of Africa before you.

Lamai Serengeti sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, only a few miles from where the wildebeest cross the Mara River.

There are twelve stone and thatch rooms, raised on wooden decking and all en-suite.  Each en-suite room is open-fronted, with mosquito netting that can be zipped closed, and canvas roll-downs if needed. There are canopied mosquito nets over the beds.

The bathrooms are enclosed by heavy netting and contain a generous shower with hot and cold running water (provided by a solar system), and flush toilet.

Each room has a comfy day bed and chairs for relaxing on the verandah.

The absolute premier wildlife-viewing experience, Serengeti Sojourn offers guests the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the Great Migration up close. The elite tented camp moves during the year, in order to follow the migration, and is stationed in either the Ndutu or Togoro.

The camp has a separate, communal lounge tent with library, board games, comfortable sofas made from reclaimed wood and a fully stocked bar.

Serengeti Sojourn comprises 12 spacious tents, each decorated with luxury and comfort in mind, allowing guests to explore the best of nature in style.

Occasional bush meals are served near to the camp, and campfires are lit when conditions allow, adding a vibrant atmosphere. Private dining can also be arranged on request.

The Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp offers guests the opportunity to experience the annual migration of the million-plus wildebeest and zebra across the Serengeti plains.

The camp is intimate, with only 10 luxury safari tents, all with wooden decks, en-suite bathrooms, and indoor bucket showers. The tents are elegantly furnished with portable cabinets and desks and feature electric outlets and a hairdryer.

The common area is made up of a central canopied area where the main tent flows into lounges, dining wings, and a bar, all with sides that can be opened to reveal panoramic views of the beautiful surroundings.

Meals are prepared by the camp chef and consist of international flavours and traditional dishes. Guests can go on full-day bush safaris and game drives with experienced guides, and bird watchers will be enchanted by the wide variety of bird species.
