Bundox River Lodge is ideally located on the banks of the Olifants River in the northern reaches of the Balule Nature Reserve. Bundox sets a new standard of luxury with its glamorous river facing Meru style tents, each built on raised wooden platforms overlooking the bend in the river below.

The 5 tented suites are spacious and designed perfectly to let in streams of natural light. The beautifully appointed tents each have en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers, private viewing decks, King size beds and standing fans. DAY 1: PRETORIA
18:00 Depart Rovos Rail Station, Pretoria. Guests may freshen up in their suites before joining fellow travellers in the lounge car or observation car at the rear of the train. Travel through Warmbaths (Bela-Bela) – so named for its mineral waters – and Nylstroom (Modimolle), christened by the Voortrekkers as the source of the Nile River as the town’s river happened to be north flowing. Pass the edge of the escarpment where the Highveld drops precipitously.
20:00 Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Polokwane. Dress: Formal

Please ensure the Train Manager or Administration Deputy is in possession of your passport.

DAY 2: AT LEISURE ON BOARD

BORDER: MUSINA, SOUTH AFRICA / BEITBRIDGE, ZIMBABWE

07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining cars. The train crosses the Tropic of Capricorn en route to Louis Trichardt.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining cars. Border formalities with South Africa.
16:30 Tea in the lounge and observation cars. The train crosses the Limpopo River en route to Beitbridge for border formalities with Zimbabwe. In Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, the ‘Elephant’s Child’ departs his family for the “great grey-green, greasy Limpopo River, all set about with fever-trees, to find out what the Crocodile has for dinner.”
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Gwanda. Dress: Formal
DAY 3: MATOBO NATIONAL PARK
06:00 Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 09:00. The train travels baobab country and ascends to Bulawayo: second city of Zimbabwe, capital of Matabeleland and industrial capital of the country.
12:00 Lunch is served in the dining cars.
13:30 Transfer (±45 min) to Matobo National Park to see bushmen caves, rock art and the grave of Cecil John Rhodes.
18:00 Depart for Sawmills.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining cars. Dress: Formal
DAY 4: HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
07:00 Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10:00. The train travels between Gwaai and Dete along one of the world’s longest stretches of straight railway line – 114 kilometres – and along the eastern edge of Hwange Park.
13:00 Lunch is served in the dining cars.
15:00 Enjoy a game drive in Hwange National Park, the nation’s largest wildlife area at 1 462 000ha.
19:30 Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Thompsons Junction. Dress: Formal
DAY 5: VICTORIA FALLS

Please ensure your luggage is ready for collection 15 minutes before departing and that you have your passport.

07:00 Breakfast until 09:30. The observation car will be leading the train – a different aspect that our rail enthusiasts enjoy.
10:00 Arrive at journey’s end at the incomparable Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Wildtrack Safaris Eco Lodge borders the Hwange National Park and is situated near the village of Pandamatenga and the Kazuma National Park.

Day 1 & 2

Following your arrival at Kasane International Airport, the Lodge will collect you and road transfer you to Elephant Valley Lodge.

Itinerary Day 1 On arrival at the lodge, guests will be able to check in whilst enjoying a delicious welcome drink and depending on time of arrival, lunch at 13h00. Guests will then be at leisure till game drive at 15h30 which is conducted in the Chobe National Park. On arrival back at camp at about 19h00, guests will have a chance to freshen up before dinner.

Itinerary Day 2 Breakfast is served between 07h00 to 08h30, followed by a boat cruise at 08h30 on the Chobe River and at 09h00 and a game drive into the Chobe Park. This activity is approximately three hours. The previous day’s itinerary follows.

Itinerary Day 3 Breakfast is served between 07h00 and 08h30 followed by a boat cruise.  NOTE – Guests that require an earlier check out will unfortunately miss the morning boat cruise as the guests only return to the lodge for check out at approximately 12h30. On checkout guests will depart for Kadizora Camp.

Day 3 & 4

Transfer by light aircraft from Kasane International Airport to Kadizora Airstrip (1 hour & 25-minute flight) followed by a game drive transfer to Kadizora Camp (about 10 minutes)

Itinerary Day 3 On arrival at the lodge, guests will be able to check in whilst enjoying a delicious welcome drink and depending on time of arrival, lunch is at 12h30. Guests will then be at leisure till high tea at 15h30 followed by either a game drive, mokoro or boat cruise activity at 16h30. On arrival back at camp between 18h00 and 19h00, guests will have a chance to freshen up before dinner.

Itinerary Day 4 At 06h00 guests depart for game drive. Breakfast is served at 07h30 for guests wanting to do the mokoro or boat cruise.  At 09h00 guests on game drive enjoy a bush breakfast. The water activity guests return to camp at about 09h30. Guests on game drive return at about 11h00. Lunch is served from 12h30 and the previous day’s itinerary follows.

Itinerary Day 5 Check out after game drive. NOTE – Guests requiring an early departure may be required to miss morning activity on day of departure. Guests will then be game drive transferred to Kadizora Airstrip for a light aircraft transfer to Maun International Airport for your onward journey.

The Hide – Hwange National Park
