According to AirHelp’s comprehensive assessment, Cape Town International Airport claimed an impressive second place, closely followed by OR Tambo International Airport at sixth.
These rankings, which evaluate criteria such as on-time performance, customer feedback, and the quality of amenities like dining and shopping, encompassed 239 airports worldwide. Mpumi Mpofu, CEO of Airports Company South Africa, expressed pride in this dual achievement, emphasizing Cape Town International Airport’s standout performance in a fiercely competitive landscape.
For Mpofu, these accolades affirm their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional facilities and ensuring seamless travel experiences across their airport network. Mark Maclean, Regional General Manager of Cape Town International Airport, highlighted the pivotal role of robust infrastructure and cutting-edge technology in setting their airport apart on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Jabulani Khambule, Regional General Manager of OR Tambo International Airport, attributed their success to a collaborative effort involving skilled personnel, government agencies, airlines, and ground-handling services. The rankings, derived from feedback from 17,550 passengers across 64 countries, provide a comprehensive snapshot of global passenger satisfaction and airport performance, covering the period from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024. This recognition underscores Cape Town and OR Tambo International Airports’ status as leaders in the global aviation industry, setting a benchmark for excellence and customer satisfaction worldwide.
